Presented by Elizabeth Shoop, LMHC | Certified Gottman Therapist
Discover the foundation of Gottman Method Couples Therapy in this Level 1 Training. Grounded in over 40 years of research with more than 3,000 couples, this training introduces a practical approach to treating relationship distress. You'll gain evidence-based tools for assessing relationship dynamics and guiding couples toward a deeper connection.
In this training you will learn to recognize the behaviors that predict relationship success or failure and apply practical interventions to help couples build stronger, more connected relationships. The training covers Gottman Method assessment tools, including the Sound Relationship House Theory and the concept of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, to help therapists identify destructive patterns and foster positive communication for couples.
You'll walk away from this two-day training with hands-on skills you can immediately apply with the couples you work with. Through engaging video demonstrations of Dr. John Gottman's groundbreaking research and real sessions from the Gottmans' clinical practice, you'll see how to translate research-based principles into effective therapeutic interventions that foster connection and lasting change.
